DATAB is used to create multi-way, multivariate summary tables with a special emphasis on the creation of event-time (rate) tables. DATAB can be used to create both event-count tables in which the stratification that defines the table does not depend on time, and event-time tables some of the stratification variables are time scales (e.g. attained age) or functions of time (such as cumulative doses). The examples in Making Tables with DATAB illustrate how DATAB can be used to produce various types of tables. DATAB also includes a command (GETRATES) that allows one to add rates from EPICURE (or user-supplied) rate files to event-time tables. For information about these rate files, see the discussion of AMFIT in Fitting Models with AMFIT. Additional details are included in EPICURE Rate File Format of the EPICURE Command Summary, which can be used in DATAB or any EPICURE module, is an even more powerful way to merge rates or other values into a dataset for use in standardized mortality ratio (SMR) or other types of analyses.
