PYOFFSET 0 | 1
Specify the offset used when evaluating person years. If the offset is 0 (the default value) then entry and exit times re treated as exact values and the person years for a person is computed in terms of exit date – entry date and the individual has no person time if the entry and exit times are the identical. If the offset is 1 then the person years is computed in terms of exit date – (entry date + 1). When working with dates this is equivalent to assuming that an individual enters the study at the beginning of the day and exits at the end of the day, so if they enter and exit on the same day they will be given 1 person-day of time at risk.
Remarks
The DOS versions of EPICURE always used an offset of 0. Some windows beta test version used an offset of 1 and there were some versions that used an offset of 0.5.
