This dialog box is used to set or modify the key variables and record weight for the current model. The key variables specify the variables that describe the outcome of interest in an analysis. The key variables required for a specific analysis depends on the type of model being fit. The screen given above is for a Cox regression model. In this case the key variables include an event indicator (cases) and an exit (failure) time variable. It is also possible, but not necessary, to specify an entry time variable or an indicator for cases that occurring outside of the cohort for case-cohort analyses. The optional weight variable should contain frequency weights for each record. For Poisson regression data there is cases variable and, in most cases, a person-years variable while the standard key variables for binary regression are again a cases variable and a trials variable (which can be omitted for Bernoulli trial data). Additional details are in Key Variables for the Regression Programs section of the EPICURE User Guide.
