Most of the commands described in this manual are available in all of the EPICURE programs. However, there are a few program-specific commands. For these commands, the program or programs in which they can be used are noted in the Programs section of the command description.
Special notation is used to describe command syntax. Optional arguments are shown enclosed in brackets { } and the | is used to indicate or in descriptions of subcommand argument lists. In a subcommand argument list, exactly one of the arguments is to be chosen when the subcommand is used.
Commands, subcommands, and arguments are shown in BOLD FACE CAPITALS. Names shown in lowercase italics represent variable names or numbers to be entered by the user. Except where noted, subcommand order is of little importance. The primary exceptions are commands in which a semicolon (;) is used to separate (groups of) arguments. The command terminator symbol (@) must be used to delimit the commands in which it is shown. The command delimiter may also be used with other commands or as a null command; however, it is required only for those commands in which it is explicitly shown in this summary. Only the first four letters in a command name are checked for correct syntax. All commands or other input may be entered in either uppercase or lowercase. Commands may be continued over as many lines as necessary.
Numbers may contain a sign and decimal points. User-defined variable names may contain letters, percent signs (%), underscores (_), and the digits 1 to 9. Names cannot begin with a number. Only the first eight characters in a name are read. User-defined names should not begin with a percent sign, because this symbol is used as the first character in names generated by the programs to store various quantities of interest to the user, for example, fitted values and residuals.
